Breaking Deceptions about Prophetic Worship Dance

Tonight at the Onething conference, I let loose and danced.  At first a little in the midst of the stage area crowd.  Later I moved to a private darkened area where I knew many people couldn't see me.  Why didn't I dance in front of the stage area?  It was very crowded and also, I don't think even IHOP KC is ready for the dancers to break out.  So we dance in the places off to the side without good sound, with no cameras.  We treat the dancers much like a strange uncle we're ashamed of and push him aside.  This is not God's best for worship.

There is a demonic deception in the church concerning dance.  The church in the Western world has a false notion that dancing in worship is taboo.  This has left a great gift to the church unused and misunderstood.

The dark side knows the full power of dance well.  This is why they copied it and stole it from God's people.  They use it all the time to empower their people in spirit of this age.  This can be seen on MTV, music videos, night clubs across the world where people stay up until morning dancing the night away.

We as the church err greatly to not use the weapon and tool or dance in worship.  Dance is the next step up from singing, clapping and raising your hands.  The more involved you get in worship, the more you are impacted and receive revelation and release intercession.

For some reason, the Western world has bought into a great lie that dancing is of the devil and doesn't have a place in worship.  Let me tell you clearly that God wants everyone to dance in worship.  "But I don't know how; I can't hear rhythm, I never took a dance class."  Bad excuses, for listen to this.

Almost everyone in a congregation sings, the majority have never been trained and some even sing terribly off key, yet they sing because the singing is an offering to Jesus and also because singing imparts inspiration to their souls.  God wants dancing to arise in the same way.  The majority have not been trained and some might look terrible yet it is an offering to the Lord and they will receive greater revelation and impartation if they dance.

On the enemies side, think of the spiritual access Shaman's use when they dance to the drums until they are lost in trances and tap into spiritual realities where they believe they can manipulate other spirits to bring healing, exorcism, or other things.  The kingdom of darkness is tapping in to the great tool in worship called Dance.  Meanwhile the church is told deceiving lies that dancing is strange, off limits, and for only those few strange people.

Are you a trained singer?  Do you sing well?  If you don't, why do you still sing in worship when others might hear you?  With dancing, it should be the same way.

In these coming years, we need access to God's revelation and Glory to give us direction and protection from the coming wickedness.  It is not an option to neglect the arsenal and weaponry of dance while the enemy uses it to his advantage against the church.

Start moving as you worship, sway, hop if you have to, listen to the words, instruments and drums.  Move to the music as you sing.  You will be involved more fully and therefore connect for deeply with the message of the song and also with the God that you are singing and dancing for.

Don't be frightened just because the dark kingdom uses dance to sin, they also use music and you haven't given that up.

Hi, could you blog a bit about what Bickle and others said about 'the false justice movement' and emerging church? I'd be interested to know your thoughts.

Thanks!
