The Dread of God's Shaking Brought Freedom

Psalm 105:37-38

37 He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold,
and from among their tribes no one faltered.

38 Egypt was glad when they left,
because dread of Israel had fallen on them.

The dread of Israel had fallen on Egypt. Egypt had the power and money. It was an oppressive empire that was going after the children of Israel by drowning them in the Nile river.

Israel was a slave to Egypt until the supernatural judgments of YHWH were upon Egypt. After the judgments, the wealth and power had transferred over to Israel.

Are believers to be on the defensive or offensive in our culture? This morning,I kept thinking about how the children in America who escape abortion are then bombarded by a battle for their minds in our media and schools. Are our children under attack? Should our prayers be more fervent and consistent? Yes and yes.

Many things will never change unless we cry out and God answers.

Exodus 3:7
7 The LORD said, "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering.
