In the youth meeting last Wednesday, we discussed self-control and breaking bad habits of rage and lust. Man, these verses down below (Gal 5) rock my world. Stop trying to be a Christian by simply making good choices. That is not why Jesus died and rose again. We are spiritual supernatural beings. He died so that his Spirit, (not your higher self/ not some force), but God who speaks, Yahweh, Jesus-God in Flesh, His Spirit could fill you up...and if you want His Spirit...you must repent of your ways and seek his. It's supernatural...like those medium/channelers speaking to the dead, getting possessed, all creepy and stuff...but this is God's spirit. It's pure and beautiful. I'm getting sidetracked.
Stop trying to live by following a list of rules. Seek to be filled with his Spirit. Turn off the TV and seek him, hunger for him, ask for him to come, cry out for him...The Bible will tell you about him but alone cannot give you life. Bible study will not give you life... You must supernaturally seek Jesus and His spirit to find life...encounter him...know him....experience him...this is life. He is life and if he fills you, you awaken and are alive. IF YOU ARE FILLED WITH GOD'S SPIRIT, THOSE BAD HABITS WILL FALL AWAY...DON'T FOCUS ON JUST BREAKING BAD HABITS, that is not life. Focus on being filled with God and those habits will leave.
16So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

U2 video for "Lemon" inspired by Muybridge and Marey
Muybridge Photo
Below: short film by Marey
Both of these men helped in the creation of Cinema.
Here is the U2 video for "Lemon". I read online that this song was inspired by old film that Bono found of his mother in a lemon colored brides maid dress. The video acknowledges Muybridge and Marey in its style.
As you can see below, Marey's photos also inspired Marcel Duchamp in his Nude Descending a Staircase.
Muybridge used multiple cameras to campture his images. This recently developed into the modern "Bullet Time" film making technique seen below.
Just thought you might want to know.

The Call-Houston

On January 18th 2010, thousands gathered in Houston, TX to march in prayer in neighborhoods surrounding the new abortion supercenter. This abortion clinic is second in size only to China and is positioned in the middle of one black neighborhood and three Hispanic neighborhoods. Thousands marched in silent prayer with the LIFE tape on their mouths lifting up prayers for a change of heart to come to America.

Haiti's Orphans will Camp
Randy Bohlender and his wife have been working to get help for the orphan's in Haiti. They have networked and spoken to many in office. Keep up with developments on his blog.

So far, help seems to be coming to those who had American families in the process of adopting them. As for those who did not, they will have to stay and wait for the international community to set up a camp for them.
Copied from his blog:
“So what’s the plan for the children left behind?” I asked. I’m particularly concerned about these kids because the conditions they’re living in are atrocious.
One orphanage worker, Troy Livesay with Heartline Ministries, twittered today: “Our clinic turned into a hospital, and our sewing room into a surgical ward, and an arm was amputated with a reciprocating saw.”
What about those orphans left behind in that atmosphere? It turns out the US is a little skittish about just coming in and taking charge (not sure when we developed this neurosis) and so we are hoping that Unicef or some other international organization will come in and set up a ‘Safe Haven’ for those children.
At this point, I’m sitting in my office balancing Piper in my lap, trying to keep her from mashing down on my keyboard. ”A safe haven? What’s that?”
“It’s a camp.” The senate staffer tells me.
I grow a little sick. I went to camp as a little kid and didn’t really like it. I wondered what this camp was going to be like. “A big camp for all the orphans? Where will that be?”
“In Haiti.”
That’s it. At this point, that’s our federal response to the Haitian orphan crisis. A big camp in a country that was poor and chaotic before the living snot got shaken out of it a week ago, after which it really went to pot. Enjoy camp, kids.
