"The Seer" as Prophet and Painter

The place of the singer relies on the bubbling up prophetic for inspiration.  The gift of prophecy for the painter lies in the images...The uncanny strange images...What do these mean Lord?  He may not always answer.  Paint oh prophet/seer and ask for interpretation but if it does not come to you...it may not have been intended for you.  So paint the images, if no meaning comes, do not make it up.  Just give the image.

In Hebrew, "nabi" is an inspired prophet, a "khozeh" is a seer.  The first speaks from inspiration, the second speaks images and vision he sees.  One can flow back and forth from these but music/singing reminds me of "nabi" and artist/painting of "khozeh".  The first in a bubbling up, the second a slower process, the images just materialize.

In giving personal prophecy, this is the case.  One sometimes gets an image and doesn't know what it means. Sometimes the giver of the word will be given the interpretation.  I was instructed and found it true that one should not make up the meaning or seek to interpret the image for the person if the meaning did not come to you.  Sometimes the meaning will only be known to the listener receiving the word.

At other times in giving a personal prophecy, inspiration and emotion flow from you and you speak the words to express what you are feeling and understanding about this person you are speaking too.  But like I said, at other times, a picture just comes to mind, sometimes with meaning, other times without, like a riddle to you.  The person receiving may have the interpretation.

Tonight I felt reminded of this truth in painting.  Be faithful to draw what you "see".  Sometimes interpretation will come, other times, it's not for you to discern but for the viewer.

Blessings.
